Dreamscapes

A landscape with the mysterious characteristic of dreams or memories.

The Dreamscapes theme showcases my ongoing exploration of depicting our memories and visceral experiences of natural environments using alternative photographic techniques, primarily photomontage. As each photograph or segment of video is layered together with another, they mask, abstract, and blend together both location and time. Physically accurate depictions of specific locations increasingly fade and begin to suggest alternate possibilities; resembling the experience of attempting to recall a distant memory or dream. The resulting artwork aims to raise discussions about the space between documentation, personal experience, and definitions of reality.
